NHS - National Honor Society


The Fall 2020 induction of new members will be held on Saturday, October 24th at 4pm in the BHS auditorium.

Requirements to Apply for Membership

  • Must receive an invitation to apply

  • Must be enrolled at BHS for at least one semester

  • Current 11th or 12th grader  ***There will be a Spring 2021 induction of new members which will include 10th graders.  Starting with the 2021-2022 school year, induction will only occur in the spring of each year and will only be for sophomores and juniors. 

  • Meet the GPA requirement (Fall of 2020 is a 3.5) ***Higher GPA Requirements will implemented starting in the Spring of 2021.

  • Evidence of Leadership, Scholarship, Service and Character as provided in the application, teacher recommendations and discipline record.

  • Positive Teacher Recommendations

When the National Honor Society was founded in 1921, the hope of NASSP was to create an organization that would recognize and encourage academic achievement while also developing other characteristics essential to citizens in a democracy. These ideals of scholarship, character, service, and leadership remain as relevant today as they were in 1921. National Honor Society members are very active on our campus and in the community.
