Attendance

Due to the nature of Latin, the course will be comprehensive. As a result, it is imperative for your learning that you are in class every day.

In the case you are absent; it is your responsibility to find out what you have missed. Each class will have a spiral stating what assignments happened every day. If you have any questions, feel free to speak to me after class or before school.

All students missing class for extra-curricular activities must also take responsibility for their absence. Let me know before the event and we will come up with a plan for scheduled projects, quizzes, and tests.

Turn in missed work and schedule make-up tests as soon as possible. My policy is that the amount of time to make up the assignment is proportional to the time you were absent. After that time, the work is considered late.

Grading

Grading Scale: 50% Daily Work 50% Tests
Important Note: Quizzes will count as two daily grades.

All students enrolled in Latin will have a reasonable opportunity to redo any assignment or retake a test which originally received a failing grade.

Daily Grade: A student can redo a failing assignment for a maximum grade of a 70.

Test Grades: A student can retake tests for a maximum grade of a 70.

Conduct:

-I follow all the rules of conduct established by Bellville ISD and expect all my students to do the same.

-I do not allow food or drink in my classroom with the exception of water.

-Be Prompt – Be Polite – Be Productive – Be Prepared – Be Positive –
