Energy, Power, and Transportation Systems
Course Overview:
The student will understand the interaction of various vehicle systems, the logistics used to move goods and services to consumers, and the components of transportation infrastructure. Performance requirements will include academic and technical skills. Students prepared to meet the expectations of employers in this industry must be able to relate to others and understand the technologies used in order to provide products and services in a timely manner.

Grading:
- Daily course work, participation, and quizzes = 50%
- Shop projects, Tests and Notebook = 50%
Course Notebook: The notebook is one of your most basic, yet most valuable tools
in the service industry. You will need this information for years to come. It will also help you stay organized as we move from one topic to the next, and build on previous learning opportunities. The notebook will contain your notes and daily exercises along with specifications, part numbers and procedures that help you perform troubleshooting and repairs.
The notebook will be graded on organization and completeness, meaning notes, parts and specifications are present.
Make-up work: All work missed during and excused absence can be made up within 3 school days after the student returns. Student must have a signed note from the parent/ guardian to count as an excused absence.
Small Engine Technology
Course Overview:
This course is designed to provide training for entry-level employment in the small engine technology industry. Engine Technology includes knowledge of the function, diagnosis, and service of the systems and components of all types of small engines such as lawn mowers, motorcycle, and irrigation engines. Instruction includes the repair and service of cooling, air, fuel, lubricating, electrical, ignition, and mechanical systems and small engine overhauls. In addition, students will receive instruction in safety, academic, and leadership skills as well as career opportunities.

In Automotive Technology, students gain knowledge and skills in the repair, maintenance, and diagnosis of vehicle systems. This study allows students to reinforce, apply, and transfer academic knowledge and skills to a variety of interesting and relevant activities, problems and settings. The focus of this course is to teach the theory of operation of automotive vehicle systems and associated repair practices.
